I went to the candidate forum on 2.12.13. I liked Mark right away for his knowledge of a home town community and that he would be someone fresh on the City Council. I appreciate his enthusiasm towards reaching out to residents and their concerns for the future of Manhattan Beach. I believe he has the right balance between maintaining the city's tax revenues, via the Manhattan Village Improvement and working to insure residential areas maintain their safe and quiet neighborhoods.

As fellow Ambassadors with the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, we have come to know and respect Mark Lipps. We believe Mark will add a fresh voice to the City Council, and we endorse his candidacy.
Mark has lived in Manhattan Beach for 17 years, and has been very engaged in school and community activities. We believe he has no agenda other than hard work, a willingness to listen, and a desire to engage in common-sense decision making.
The sad fact is that only 18.5% of the registered voters cast their ballot in the last MB City Council election. We urge you to take responsibility in getting to know the candidates and to vote on March 5th for those who best represent your family’s and the community’s interests. Mark Lipps should be one of those candidates.
